About us
The aim of the Institute is the fostering of the scientific research and training, providing the latest news and research breakthroughs on atherothrombosis and antithrombotic therapy. We also provide science-based guidelines for the rational use of antithrombotic drugs. Another goal of our Institute is to advance a field or create new directions in research by supporting groups of investigators to communicate and coordinate their research on thrombosis and antithrombotic therapy.

Our goals:
  1. Development of research and education networks focused on thrombosis as well as in the prophylaxis and treatment of arterial and venous thrombosis.
  2. Organization of scientific meetings in order to provide the opportunity at practitioners from multiple disciplines of exchanging views and ideas on thrombosis and Antithrombotic therapy (meetings of the Institute’s members, seminars, workshops, congresses, symposiums).
  3. Orientation programs for new graduates and continuing medical education on thrombosis and antithrombotic therapy.
  4. Development of a project aiming at providing national guidelines for optimizing the use of antithrombotic therapy and treatment plan for vascular diseases and their complications.
  5. Development of a program aiming at monitoring the implementation of national and international guidelines for antithrombotic therapy and its complications in daily clinical practice.
  6. Evaluating the implementation and the impact of guidelines on normal clinical practice.
  7. Network constitution on basic and applied research protocols. Participation on national and international clinical trials regarding thrombosis and antithrombotic therapy.
  8. Cooperation with other institutions, public or private, national or international or scientific societies in order to promote research and training in the pathogenesis, pharmacology and epidemiology of thrombosis.
  9. Providing science-based information both for the public and patients with any available means (printed or electronic material) regarding the updated recommendations for antithrombotic therapy (indications, complications).
  10. Providing information for the efficacy and safety of the antithrombotic agents. In this regard, collaboration with national and international sectors as well as scientific societies.
